WHEN: Monday, April 29th - Friday, May 3rd

WHERE: Sunrise Drive Library

WHAT: It’s Book Fair Time! Stock-up on books for summer reading and support Sunrise Drive! Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them on their journey to becoming lifelong readers. AND—as always—every purchase at the Fair benefits our school.

SHOPPING HOURS: Students may shop at the Book Fair Monday-Friday during lunch recess. Families are welcome to shop during the Evening of the Arts event on Friday, May 3rd. Click the link below to visit our school’s Book Fair website and set up an eWallet (a safe, digital payment account) for your child to shop at the Book Fair.

**NEW this Fair: Any unused eWallet funds that remain in your child’s account after the fair will be donated to the Sunrise Drive Library.

ONLINE BOOK FAIR: If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Book Fair online. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Every online purchase will also benefit our school.

WE NEED YOUR HELP: We need volunteers for the Book Fair to run smoothly! If you would like to help set-up, work as a cashier during the fair, or help us pack it up afterwards, visit the Sign-up Genius link below:

Thank you super Sunrise supporters!

We do have more good news. We found a vendor that would customize water bottles with our Blue Ribbon logo and your child’s name! We’re doing limited quantities at $20 per bottle. This bottle is 22oz. double walled, with 3 different lids and fits in a cup holder! If you’d like one, make your purchase HERE.

Did you know that we are 1 in 4 schools in Arizona that was awarded the National Blue Ribbon Award? It recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. We have over 2000 public schools in AZ, not including private & charter schools. It is a coveted award and it's AWESOME that we won it! IT'S GOOD TO BE AT SUNRISE!!!

Mathathon Thank You

The final results are in for the Mathathon. We had an incredible record year...raising $34,733!!!

Truly amazing!!!

A big heartfelt THANK YOU to all Sunrise families and friends who made pledges to support our school’s FFO. This money will be an enormous help toward funding class field trips, the community garden and many more campus programs.

Top classrooms are as follows:

Highest Participation - Ms. Mulay’s Kindergarten class with 100% participation. They will receive FREE EEGEE certificates.

Most Money Raised: Ms. Nies’ third grade class who raised $3,368. They will receive FREE EEGEE certificates plus $100 to spend as the teacher and class choose.

Highest Average Score - First graders received this honor. They will receive a fun recess filled with special activities.

Celebration Time - Last, but not least, because Sunrise families and friends have raised over $27,000, the entire student body will get to celebrate with a week full of fun PE games and a “crazy dress-up and hair day.”

We have an amazing supportive school community!

-Tracy Rea, Mathathon Coordinator

Please remind your children to check Lost and Found. There are many lunch boxes, water bottles and jackets. All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of April. Please remember to label items with your child’s name. We will try our best to return labeled items.

Just before the break, March 22nd, we celebrated Steppers with a number of field games like Potato Sack Race, Tug-Of-War, Obstacle Course, 3-Legged Race and Dance/Jump-O-Rama, during lunch break. The kids had a great time! Thank you to Ms. Dover, Ms. Zega and all the wonderful parents that helped make this a memorable and fun event.

Yearbooks are available to purchase now through April 22nd.

Click on the link below to create your account and purchase a yearbook for your student. We are partnering with a new vendor this year, Treering. We also have two new yearbook editors, Mrs. Dover and Mrs. Ackerman, who are learning as they go and putting together a lovely yearbook to capture your Sunrise memories.
