| Welcome back! We have lots of news and events to share with families and faculty in the first FFO Digest of the year. The FFO publishes the Digest about once a month during the school year to help keep our school community informed of all the great activities that the FFO sponsors and promotes. I look forward to sharing a wonderful school year with you and your families!

| Thank you to all the families who donated to the Spirit of Sunriseat Meet Your Teacher or through Membership Tool Kit!! So far, 33% of our school’s families have participated in our fundraising campaign. Our goal is 100% participation! |
 | | The suggested amount is $50 per student, but any amount is appreciated. All donations are tax deductible. The Spirit of Sunrise is a fund-raising campaign supporting the Sunrise Drive FFO, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The FFO funds staff appreciation, 100% of student field trips, Science Day, Artists-in-Residence, the community garden, 5th grade legacy project, spelling bee, Lego robotics and Lego club, classroom equipment and technology, playground equipment, Spiders and Cider, the Chinese Spring Festival, grant requests from teachers, book for each student for Love of Reading Month, Steppers and Yoga programs, library books and so much more. There are so many ways to donate: in the FFO store in Membership Toolkit, via PayPal, or by check payable to“Sunrise Drive FFO†and dropped in the FFO lock box in the Sunrise Office.

| Spirit of Sunrise donations got us off to a great start! The entire FFO budget comes from our school’s families’ direct donations, so we need your help.
The FFO is gearing up to pay for several large expenditures for the school’s benefit including: - Renewing computer-based reading and math programs, Raz kids and Reflex math, that are utilized in the classroom and at home.
- Spiders and Cider, the FFO’s annual Halloween carnival
- Class field trips
- Staff appreciation events

 | | Family Picnic and PlayWhen: Thursday, September 26, 5:30-7:00 p.m. Who: Sunrise students and their families of all ages What: Come join friends, both old and new, to play on the playground, enjoy a picnic dinner at school, and shop at the book fair. Note: Playground supervision is the responsibility of parents. Event ends promptly at 7:00 p.m. |

When: Friday, October 25, 5:00-8:00 p.m. Who: Sunrise families and faculty Where: Sunrise Drive Elementary School What: Every fall, the FFO holds Spiders & Cider to celebrate the season. The event is fun for the whole family with carnival games, face painters, balloon twisters, raffle, maze, cake walk, photo booth, and DJ. Attendees can wear Halloween costumes! How: Visit sunriseffo.org/spiders for more info. Ticket sales will be online and, if you pre-order, your student will get a fabulous grab bag at the door! This year, the FFO is using a new yearbook vendor called Picaboo to sell yearbooks. Visit sunriseffo.org/yearbook to order yearbooks and upload pictures for consideration in the yearbook.
