Fall Garden Clean-up

Clean-up was a success and the garden is beautiful! Thanks to all of the hard-working volunteers - we couldn’t have done it without you! Thanks also to Tank’s Green Stuff for the generous dumpster and organic fertilizer donation. The garden is ready for planting!

Classroom Volunteers Needed

Classroom gardens need to be planted before Halloween. Please consider helping teachers get students to the garden.

Garden Club

Starting October 23, grades 1-5 have access to the garden during lunch recess on Wednesdays. Students keep the garden looking its best throughout the season. Volunteers needed to keep students on task and out of trouble.

Chinese Immersion

New Teacher Spotlight!

Ms. Siyi Chen grew up in Beijing, China. She earned her degree in Early Childhood Education with a bilingual(Mandarin) endorsement from the University of Arizona. Ms. Chen currently teaches Kindergarten. This is her 2nd year teaching at Sunrise.

Outside of teaching, Ms. Chen has 3 dogs; Bubba, Dante, and MeiLi(“beautiful” in Chinese). She is passionate about cooking, loves camping, and being in nature.

When asked what she likes about Sunrise, Ms. Chen responded:“I love the work environment here. We all look out for each other. I especially love the fact that I get to teach my home language and culture to my students. It makes me feel like home.”
