President's Intro

As we all know, Sunrise Drive Elementary is closed from Monday, March 16, 2020 to Friday, March 27, 2020. The FFO has suspended its activities during this time, including the next General FFO Meeting scheduled for this Friday, March 16. The FFO will resume gatherings once school is back in session — but there are still ways to support the school and I encourage you to keeping reading about how you can stay involved.

For more information on the school district’s response to COVID-19, visit https://www.cfsd16.org/covid-19_information

In the meantime, keep washing those hands! As we all adjust to a“new normal,” the FFO wishes all parents and caregivers patience, humor, and hope in the coming weeks!

Mathathon Update

Mathathon Logo

WhatMathathon is a huge fundraiser for Sunrise with 100% of the proceeds going to the school.

When: through April 3

WhyThrough Mathathon, Sunrise Drive FFO raises tens of thousands of dollars for field trips, artists-in-residence, Community Garden, 5th grade legacy project and dozens of other campus programs. Our families achieve this while students have fun studying math – it’s a true win/win for Sunrise and students!

UPDATE: Students took the Mathathon test on March 10and have raised over $23,000 so far! We are still trying to hit a record amount of $33,000 and we need you to encourage family and friends to donate. They can make donations through Pledgestar until April 3(you’ll need to create an account to get your student’s personalized donation link if you haven’t yet). All pledges must be completed online. Any money paid after April 3 will not be included in the calculation of prizes(though, of course, it will be accepted).

This is a great time to use your AZ tax credit which can be donated to Sunrise through Mathathon. Let’s keep it going!

EVERYparticipating student will take home a prize, regardless of the amount they raise. Our goal is 100% participation…let’s set a new record, Sunrise!
