President's Intro

We have so many exciting things happening this month. We are busy approving grants, and planning and funding activities around campus. Thank you to Jamilyn Craig for providing lunches for our wonderful teachers and staff last week. Thank you to Jenny Dessent, Nadya Novak and Maria Johnson for putting together a Spring festival -- the kids had a blast with the decorations and games at recess. Thank you to Tracy Rea for all her hard work on Mathathon. It is still up and running so make sure you get your pledges in! Sabrina Romero has done an amazing job making our yearbook simple, easy and fun in this unusual year. Make sure to submit your yearbook photos if you haven’t done so already. We are a stronger school community because of these volunteers and the contributions of many other volunteers!

We would love if you could attend our general FFO meeting via Zoom this Friday February 19 at 8:00 a.m. If you have never attended a meeting, I promise that they are quick, fun and very informative. We love fresh faces and ideas, so please join us!

Mathathon is Back!

I Love Math Smiley Face
Mathathon is here!  It is a huge fundraiser for our school and we need your help and support!

Thank you to those families who have already set up accounts on Pledgestar and have received donations.  WAY TO GO!!!

EVERY participating student will take home a prize, regardless of the amount they raise. Our goal is 100% participation. Let’s set a new record, Sunrise!

How do you keep warm in a square room?  You go into the corner, where it is always 90 degrees.

Why was the obtuse angle so upset?  Because it was never right.

What did one math book say to the other?  I’ve got my own problems.

Why did the boy eat his math homework?  Because the teacher told him it was a piece of cake.

What do you call an empty parrot cage?  Polygon.

- Tracy Rea, Mathathon Coordinator
